JESUS SAID "AT THE LAST DAY"

When it comes to the timing of the rapture, no one has more authority than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Take a look at the following scripture and pay close attention to the highlighted sections. If there are any questions or comments, leave them at the bottom and I will do the best I can to answer them.
1st Thessalonians 4:13-17 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

These verses are about the timing of the rapture. Paul makes it very clear that we will not be caught up (rapture) until the dead in Christ rise first.

When do the dead in Christ rise ? Jesus tells us in the gospel of John 6:39-44
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Jesus also tells us in John 6:53-54
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

4 times our Lord says that the dead in Christ will be raised at the last day.

Even Martha knows that the dead in Christ will rise at the last day!
John 11:23-24 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesus is the best source of truth. He taught everyone that the dead in Christ will rise on the last day.

Question: The last day occurs after the tribulation, how can there be a pre-trib rapture when there are so many days afterwards?

  2. Good for you, but only a strange insular area of the U.S. believes in the rapture now. If I'm wrong please reply.
    Thank you for writing.

  3. At anonymous,

I wish that only a small part of the U.S. believed in the pre-trib rapture, however, I live in nw florida, and 95% of our churches in this area believe.
It is so prevalent in this area, that those who do not believe (such as our selves)are ridiculed.
Thanks for leaving a comment! I appreciate the encouragement! TK

  4. Thomas, very good, very clear on the resurrection and the rapture taking place on the "last day" And from the best possible source - JESUS... How can the vast majority of Christians overlook this?? "... having eyes yet see not..." comes to mind. GBY, Roger

  5. Thanks for the kind words Roger.
My prayer is that more people would see the error in dispensationalism and many other errors that are in the "box church system".

  7. Hi TJ,

This is David, we met recently the world and church trends website. You and I are in agreement that our translation and the resurrection occur on the last day at the return of Christ. I am glad that our last comments ended on a pleasant note! Don and I are not in agreement on everything. Most notably end times doctrine. Of the 3 main ones: preterism, historism, and futurism I am unable to find scriptural proof to align myself with one of them.I have studied everything I can find around the topic and still nothing. When I have studied the 3 I find much of mans opinions and little of scripture.I have ideas and opinions but they are not scripturally sound and I choose not to share them very often. I am pleased that you got out of the Pentecoastal movement. I have been unable to find a Church in which I have complete doctrinal agreement. The one that would be closest to my beleifs would be the Baptist denomination even though I do not agree with them on the once saved always saved doctrine they have. To me it is whether one beleives and that would be an action verb to me. I do think one can stop beleiving after one has beleived. Only someone and God knows if in their heart theyh beleive. As you are studying the word and finding Doctrine for yourself, pay attention to the unction from the Spirit each beleiver has and if something strikes you as wrong that someone is teaching, don't take their word for it. Search it out for yourself!

    God Bless you buddy.

    Truly,
    David

  8. David,

Thank you for the kind comments! I have been trying to figure out what the Bible says about the end times myself for a long time. It just seemed to me that the pre-trib rapture was way too main stream in movies and books to be the Truth of the Bible.

I do not have it all figured out yet, but must admit that the historicist view appears to fit the closest to the Bible that any other view. When I made this blog, I wanted to make sure that I used a lot of scripture to back it up.

Yes, I am glad to be out of the Pentecostal church's as well. As for a denomination that fits closest, I would agree that baptist fits real close. Not the baptist of today, but the ana baptist of the 1500's - 1800's.

As far as being able to stop believing after having believed one time, you are referring to one of my favorite doctrine's known as free will. God does not force someone to get saved, and will not force someone to stay saved. It is our choice.

Yes, we are all to be just like those noble Bereans and search the scripture to see if it is so!! Praise the Lord for his Word!! I would be lost with out it.

    God Bless you David, TK

  9. Shalom. I could not find a way to reply to the comment that you left at my Pillar of Enoch Ministry Blog, so I am writing a reply to you here. Your argument against the Rapture using the idea that it will happen on the Last Day doesn’t disprove the Pre-Wrath Rapture at all. This is because our Messiah Yahshua was referring to the Last GREAT Day, which is a thousand year day that began on Rosh Hashanah in 1999, in the Jewish year that is equivalent to the year 2000. Since this is the Great Day of the LORD in which Yahshua’s 1,000-year reign as King of kings will take place, we are expecting Yahshua to come for us very soon in the Rapture so that the Tribulation can end and Yahshua can raise all the martyrs who died during the Tribulation and they can be present to usher in His Kingdom on the Earth along with the saints who took part in the Rapture. In the meantime, we are doing our best on a limited income to be prepared to live through some difficult times until then. As we await our Savior’s glorious return, may our Father God Yahweh in Heaven bless you abundantly. Maranatha! ~ Helena Lehman
